Your partner in municipal leadership, strategy, and public trust
Bethany Rowland is the Principal Consultant at TrustPoint Strategies. She brings more than 20 years of experience in municipal government, including senior leadership roles in corporate communications and public engagement, where she worked at the centre of complex decisions involving governance, service delivery, public trust, and organizational change.
While her foundation is in communications, Bethany’s work has always extended beyond messaging. She has supported councils, CAOs, mayors, and senior leadership teams in diagnosing complex challenges, aligning leadership, shaping strategy, and delivering work that directly influences community confidence and institutional credibility.
Bethany holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Philosophy and a Master of Arts in Journalism, and began her career as a reporter in Kitchener. That early journalism experience continues to inform her approach, grounded in clarity, ethics, and a strong understanding of how decisions and information are perceived by the public. She continues to write and contribute thought leadership on municipal governance, trust, and leadership.
Why TrustPoint Strategies exists
Municipalities today are navigating unprecedented complexity: rising public expectations, limited capacity, heightened scrutiny, and issues that increasingly cut across departments, mandates, and jurisdictions. Many communities don’t need another report or reactive solution—they need experienced, practical leadership support.
TrustPoint Strategies was founded to provide that support. The practice works alongside municipal leaders to think clearly, solve problems collaboratively, design meaningful strategies, and move important initiatives forward—whether the challenge is operational, organizational, political, or public-facing.

Approach
Every municipality’s challenge is different, and TrustPoint’s approach reflects that.
Engagements begin with a complimentary 30-minute discovery call to understand the context, priorities, and constraints. From there, support is tailored to the municipality’s specific needs and capacity.
Depending on the situation, support may include developing strategy alongside staff, facilitating leadership or council–staff alignment, providing senior-level strategic advice, or offering focused support during high-pressure or crisis situations.
For larger or more complex initiatives, TrustPoint draws on a small network of trusted municipal and sector specialists—ensuring the right expertise is brought in at the right time, without unnecessary overhead or complexity.
